DIM SUM
When I lived in New York, my family and I had a tradition of getting dim sum in Chinatown at least once a month. Dim sum is a style of Chinese food in which food is prepared in small sized portions. Items are usually served in small steamer baskets or plates. In many dim sum restaurants, food is carried on trays that constantly are pushed around the restaurant. When a cart comes to your table, you point to which items you want and the server pushing the cart gives you the food and checks off the item on a slip of paper that you later use to pay. Dim sum is generally fairly inexpensive and just so much fun to eat as a group.
